1 Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the New Pacific website and the classes and services we provide. By using our site, booking a trial, or purchasing classes, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2 Our services

New Pacific provides live, online English tuition, including general English, IELTS preparation, and business English, delivered by our teachers over video-conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. Class length, level, and format are described on our site and confirmed when you book.

3 Free trial

We offer a free trial so you can experience a class before you buy. The trial is intended for genuine prospective students, and we may limit trials to one per person or household. Booking a trial does not oblige you to purchase any package.

4 Booking and packages

Classes are sold as packages (for example, bundles of 4, 8, or 12 classes) or on the terms shown on our pricing page. There is no long-term lock-in contract: you purchase a package and use the classes within it. The number of classes, validity period, and any conditions are shown at the time of purchase.

5 Payment and currencies

Payment for packages is made upfront to secure your schedule, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We accept all currencies supported by our banking platform, so you can generally pay in your local currency. Payments are handled by our banking or payment provider; we receive confirmation of payment but do not store your full card details.

6 Scheduling and cancellations

We teach across time zones and offer morning, evening, and weekend slots. Once a class is scheduled, you may reschedule or cancel it by giving us reasonable advance notice, as described when you book. Classes cancelled with less than the required notice, or missed without notice, may be treated as used. We will always try to be fair and flexible where genuine emergencies arise.

7 Refunds

If you have bought a package and have unused classes, you may ask us about a refund for the unused portion. Refunds, where offered, are calculated on the classes you have not yet taken, and any free or discounted classes already used may be deducted at their standard rate. We handle refund requests reasonably and in good faith; contact us to discuss your situation.

8 Your responsibilities

To get the most from your classes, and to keep things fair for our teachers, you agree to:

• provide accurate booking information;
• arrive on time and ready for scheduled classes;
• have a suitable device, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space;
• treat teachers and staff with respect; and
• use our classes and materials for your own learning, not to resell or redistribute them.

9 Course materials and intellectual property

We teach using published coursebooks and exam materials, such as the Cambridge Empower, Oxford Discover, Market Leader, and official IELTS materials, together with our own resources. Published materials remain the property of their respective publishers, and we are an independent language school, not affiliated with or endorsed by those publishers. Any resources we create and share with you are provided for your personal study only and may not be copied, resold, or redistributed without our permission.

10 Students under 18

Where a student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make the booking, agree to these Terms, and be responsible for payment. Parents and guardians are welcome to be involved in their child's learning and to contact us about their child's classes at any time.

11 Limitation of liability

We provide our classes with reasonable care and skill, and we work to help you progress. However, learning outcomes depend on many factors, and we do not guarantee any particular result, including any specific IELTS score or exam outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the classes giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end our services to you if you breach these Terms, misuse our classes or materials, or behave abusively towards our teachers or staff. Where we end our services without cause, we will refund any unused classes you have paid for.

13 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, and any disputes relating to them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts, unless a mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
